The dog days of summer are almost over, and the fall happenings in Georgia’s Lake Country are calling your name! Don’t miss these top fall activities taking place in the four communities surrounding Lakes Oconee and Sinclair — Eatonton, Greensboro, Madison and Milledgeville.

This annual downtown Eatonton event is now in its 7th year and is hosted by Eatonton Main Street on the Putnam County Court House Lawn. Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival

Annual Chili Cook-Off and Fall Festival – October 13 from 10:30am – 4pm
Enter your out-of-this world chili recipe in Madison’s Chili Cook-off! That, or cast your vote for the best batch in the public sampling. This day full of fun for the whole family also features a cornbread contest, live music, and a handmade/homegrown market. Don’t miss this special day in Madison that always attracts a crowd. Wristbands go on sale at 12pm for $5 each and public sampling begins at 12:30 sharp! More information

Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival – November 3 at 11am
If you’ve never seen 100+ tractors motor through town then it’s time to head to Bostwick! Specialty craft vendors, tasty treats, and cotton ginning demos this celebration of agricultural heritage is not to be missed! Bostwick is located in Morgan County just a few miles from Madison. Deep Roots Festival

Lockerly Under the Stars- This fun and relaxing celebration will feature music by Reunion, food by Aubri Lanes and a silent auction.  Best of all, it will all take place in Lockerly’s Grassmann Meadow, under the stars. Phone: (478) 452-2112

Deep Roots Festival – October
This cultural arts and music festival brings downtown Milledgeville to life. A long-time favorite of locals, tourists, and college students alike, this festival features an antique car show, live-entertainment ranging from bluegrass to rock-and-roll, and an MBN sanctioned BBQ cook-off contest.

-Andalusia’s 13th Annual Bluegrass Festival – October
Gather under oak and pecan trees at Andalusia Farm for an evening of Blue Grass grooving. Pack a picnic and bring the dog because this event is fun for the whole family. There will be food & drink vendors as well as plenty of free parking. The day starts at 3pm with porch pickin’ (bring your instruments!) and trail walks before the bands begin at 5pm.
