Friday Frolic Is For Kids!
Join us on Friday night for the Family Frolic – it’s “kids’ night” at Firefly. Bring the kids for a night of fun with stilt walkers, music, bubbles, face painters, fun inflatables, creative kids crafts, and family entertainment–all in the park from 6:30-8:30 pm. Sorry, no coolers allowed on Friday night. Feed the kids before you come and we’ll provide an icy treat. This is a ticketed event, kids pay $5 each, parents are free. Your ticket includes all activities within the park! Main Street Vet and HSMC will be on hand with animals, so leashed pets are allowed on Friday–please be sure to clean up after your dog. The Firefly Frolic is a 12 and under event.

A zany rich-boy-meets-hometown-girl romantic comedy, CRAZY FOR YOU® tells the story of young New York banker Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker, the theater owner’s daughter. But Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker. Bobby vows – through cunning, razzmatazz, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity – to win Polly’s heart and save the theatre. Memorable Gershwin tunes from the score include “I Got Rhythm,” “Naughty Baby,” “They Can’t Take That Away from Me,” “Embraceable You,” “But Not for Me,” “Nice Work if You Can Get It,” and “Someone to Watch Over Me.”
A long-time favorite of locals, tourists and college students alike, Deep Roots is a lively cultural arts and music festival that brings historic downtown Milledgeville to life like nothing else. It beckons travelers from all over with an antique car show, live entertainment ranging from bluegrass to rock-and-roll, artist market, and a “LittleRoots KidZone.” A day at the festival will allow you to see talent, art and products from national, regional and local individuals and businesses. The festival also plays host to an MBN sanctioned BBQ cook-off contest featuring the ever-popular People’s Choice award that will draw BBQ connoisseurs from around the Southeast.
Festivities kick-off at 10 a.m. and the music pumps until midnight. Downtown streets are closed, allowing festival goers to dine in their favorite establishments or try a pop-up vendor, shop the festival arts or our merchants, and dance in the street with your partner or kiddo.
